New President means business

Fife Chamber of Commerce has announced the appointment of Mr Bob Garmory as its new President at the business group’s spring AGM.

Currently a Director at the Purvis Group based in Lochgelly and co-owner of Fife

Airport, Mr Garmory vowed to ensure that the voice of Fife businesses will continue to be heard in all seats of government.

He said, “Our members have experienced very diffi cult conditions of late and I hope that Fife Chamber can make a difference to help restore economic growth going forward. I am honoured to be elected to this position and

will do everything possible to represent Fife Chamber and its members as effectively as I can.”

Mr Garmory praised the tremendous work done by the outgoing President, Bill Main commenting, “Bill has been at the helm of Fife Chamber at a time when the economy has performed poorly yet the Chamber has grown both in membership and in stature. We are all indebted to Bill for his efforts and thank him for the legacy of a strong Fife Chamber.

I have a hard act to follow.”
